Meyerville’s water woes reach dry point
STANDERTON - Numerous complaints were received by Cosmos News about the water supply in Meyerville - especially during the night.
The enquiry was forwarded to the spokesperson of Lekwa Local Municipality and this was the reply received: “The Municipality closes the water in Meyerville at 20:00 and opens it again at 05:00 in-order to increase the water level of the round reservoirs that augment the square reservoir.
The square reservoir supply water to the high-lying area of Extensions 6 and 7.”
As far as could be determined, the residents of Meyerville were not approached or notified of this decision where the local municipality denies residents a basic human right - water!
